DAILY RECORD Tuesday, Winona January Daily 17, News 2006 Obituaries Hugo Dale Benedett Jr. June 15, 1930 Jan. 15, 2006 STOCKTON, Minn. Benedett Hugo Dale Benedett 75, of rural Winona, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at Community Memorial Hospital.

He was Benedett born June 15, 1930, in Winona County to Hugo and Hazel (Duncanson) Benedett. He attended Lewiston schools and the University of Minnesota, where he studied agriculture. He married Harriett Labisky Sept. 2, 1961, in Plainview. The couple farmed for many years near Stockton.

Hugo was especially proud of his Guernsey cows and John Deere tractors. He was a member of Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Harriett; one daughter, Deborah (Richard) Nahrgang; and granddaughter, Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be Brianna Grace Vitek Feb.

'Rob' Rieck April 8, 1962 Jan. 14, 2006 BUFFALO CITY, Wis. Robin D. "Rob" Rieck, 43, of Buffalo City died Saturday, Jan.14, 2006. Rob was born April 8, 1962, in Wabasha to Dale Rieck and the late Janice Bucholtz.

On June 14, 1986, Rob was united in marriage to Rosemary Sobotta at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fountain City. Several years ago, Rob worked as a hired hand for area farmers. He was employed by Winona Manufacturing for several years, where he obtained the title of operator in the sanding department. He then started his career as a milk hauler, first working, part time for Wnuk Trucking of Fountain City, then taking a full-time job with Soppa Trucking of Waumandee and most recently hauled milk for Neitzel Trucking of Alma.

He enjoyed his days as a milk hauler. He loved to drive the big trucks and shoot the breeze with the patrons. He enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow haulers, especially Paul, Dale, Tim, Gerry and Bags. To keep busy on his days off and to keep his hands in farming, he also worked a casual part-time job at Baker's Acres in Waumandee, where he found a great friendship with Dave. Rob was a member of St.

Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Alma Council No. 6789. He was a true outdoor enthusiast, enjoying both Ruth P. Church Nov. 18, 1924 Jan.

14, 2006 Ruth P. Church, 81, of 857 E. Twelfth Winona, East Man Apartments, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, in the intensive care unit of Community Memorial Church Hospital. Church Ruth was born Nov.

18, 1924, in Winona to Arthur and Helen (Teska) Hohensee. She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1943 and attended Winona State University. Ruth married Roger G. Church Nov. 24, 1944, in Winona.

She is a member of First Congregational Church, sang in its choir and was the secretary of the Women's Fellowship for 18 years. She was a partner with Marilyn Hohensee in the Puppenmacher Shop in Minnesota City. She instructed ceramics twice a week for 10 years and taught knitting and crocheting at the Senior Friendship Center. Hugo was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, and his, humor, kindness and generosity will be deeply missed. We are forever thankful and blessed to have shared our lives with him.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with an opportunity for friends and loved ones to share remembrances. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Brianna's life will be at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona, with a visitation from 11 am.

His mother and infant sister, Barbara, preceded Rob in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Fountain City, with Father Rick Roberts as celebrant. Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. Friends and family may call today one hour prior to the Mass at the Church. She was a member of Pickwick Chapter 191 O.E.S., where she was also past worthy matron three times. She was a volunteer at Community Memorial Hospital with the Pink Ladies and helped with the telephone and the gift shop. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. She is survived by her husband, Roger; four children, Thomas (Laurie) Church of Pickwick, Sandra (Dennis) Kiehne of Goodview, Andrea Church of Winona, and Jody (Peter) Berhow of Winona; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the First Congregational Church today at 10 a.m.

followed by an Eastern Star Service at 10:30 a.m. and a memorial service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Rick King will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
