Chrysler reports losses DETROIT (AP) -Chrysler Corp. today reported losses of $490 million in the third quarter of the year, one day after Ford Motor Co. reported losses of $595 million, the worst quarterly loss in the auto industry's history. That brought the company's total deficits to $2 54 billion over the past seven quarters. A veteran of World War he was employed by the Soil Conservation Service, Department oi Agriculture, for 32 years until his retirement in 1965. He lived in St Paul, and later Wabasha, moving to Lake City with his wife in 1966. He was born Dec 28, 1899. at Zumbrota Falls, Minn to Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Anding He married Emily Wall on Sept. 14. 1931, in Wabasha. He was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Wabasha, and the American Legion. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Tom.

Helen M. Hanson, 79, Independence, a former school teacher at Osseo and Independence, died today at Tri-County Memorial Hospital, Whitehall. She had been hospitalized one day. The former Helen Halverson, she was born in Independence Jan. 6, 1901, to Lars and Mathea Olson Halverson She was a graduate of the Eau Claire Normal School.

She married Albert, Hanson in Eau Claire in 1926. The couple started the Hanson Insurance Agency in Independence in 1927. He died in 1945 but she remained associated with the company until 1978. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the American Lutheran Church, Independence; a 23-year member of the American Lutheran Church Women; a 23-year member of the Coral Rebecca Lodge 50, Whitehall, and a member of the Ivy Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs.

-JD. (Dun) Ferguson, 78, Lewiston. a retired farmer, died Tuesday at Community Memorial Hospital, Winona, following a two-week illness. A former farmer in Fremont, Pilot Mound and Lewiston areas, he was born Feb. 17, 1902, in Fremont to Loy and Katherine Knauf Ferguson.

He married Frieda Meyer March 4, 1928, in St Paul's United Church of Christ, Lewiston. She died Nov. 4, 1977. He was a past member of the church council at St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Survivors are: one son. James, Lewiston; one brother, George Ferguson, Lewiston, and a Mrs Helen Litcher, Rollings tone Funeral services will be Friday at 2 m. at St. Paul Church, the Rev. William Burger officiating.
