Dora Ashley GALESVILLE, Wis. Mrs. Dora Ashley, 87, Galesville, died early Wednesday at a Wausau, nursing home. The daughter of Mr. a and Mrs.

Joseph Jensen, this, was born at Galesville Aug. 1885. She was married to Robert Ashley Sept. 22, 1910. She was a lifelong member of the Galesville Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school 50 years, and a member of the Clear Lake, Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors are: one son, Robert, San Dimas, one daughter, Mrs. W. J. (Mary) Freund, Wausau; a nephew reared in the Ashley home, William Webster, Lakeland, five grandchildren and three' great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at p.m.

Saturday at Smith Mortuary, Galesville, the Rev. Earl Kreisa, First Presbyterian Church, La Crosse, officiating, with burial in Pine Cliff Cemetery, Galesville. Friends may call at the mort7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m. and until the servies.

Mrs. Eline Rustad WHITEHALL, Wis. (Special)Mrs. Eline Rustad, Whitehall, died early, at TriCounty Memorial Hospital after an illness of eight months. The former Eline Lostad was born in Gudbransdalen, Norway, May 26, 1884, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Lostad.

She immigrated 68 years ago. She was married to Syver Galstad, who died in 1918. On Dec. 20, 1922, she was married Henry J. Schansberg at Winona.

He was killed in a car cident Sept. 1, 1931. She was married to Ole Rustad in 1936. He died in 1 1945. She was member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Whitehall, and womens' organizations, and Whitehall American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors are: one son, George Schwansberg, Milwaukee, one granddaughter, Miss Elaine Foss, who made home with her, and two grandsons. One son and one daughter have died. Funeral services will be at p.m. Friday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, the Rev. ford Ritland officiating, burial in Old Whitehall Cemetery.

Friends may call at Johnson Funeral Chapel Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and the church Friday from until services. A family devotion will be at 8 p.m. Thurs- day. Mrs.

Mattie L. Van Brunt DURAND, Wis. Mrs. Mattie L. Van Brunt, 91, Durand, died Tuesday at the home of her son Victor, La Crosse, Wis.

The former Mattie Brown, she was born the town of Nelson, Sept. 17, 1881, the daughter of George and Rebecca Brown. She was married to Edward Van Brunt, who died in 1964. Survivors are: one son, Victor, La Crosse one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren, one sister, Jessie Newell, River Falls, Wis. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.

Saturday at Goodrich Funeral Home, Durand, the Revs. Richard and Marilyn Rushton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.

until services. Al Poeschel DURAND, Wis. (Special) Al Poeschel, 67, Durand, died at his home Tuesday. The son of Mr. and Mrs.

John Poeschel, he was born in rural Durand April 27, 1905. He married Agnes Hengst at Lima, Nov. 28, 1934. They farmed until moving here in 1964. He was employed by the Durand Unified School System at the time of his death.

Survivors are: his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Arlene) Luther, Elmwood, four grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Christine Wolf, Menomonie. Wis. Six brothers have died.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Durand, the Rev. Stephen Anderl officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may all at Rhiel Funeral Home, Durand, Thursday after 2 p.m.

where a prayer service will be at 8. Mrs. Anna Kelch PLAINVIEW, Minn. (Special) Mrs. Anna Kelch, 82, Plainview, died Tuesday evening at St.

Marys Hospital, Rochester, following a one-month illness. The former Anna Senst, she was born March 26, 1890 in to Fred and Wilmen, helmina Senst and was married to August Kelch June 24, 1914 at Bremen. She had lived in the Plainview area all of her married life. Survivors are: five brothers, Walter and Elmer Senst, Plainview; Edwin Senst, Rochester; Alvin Senst, Chatfield, and Arnold Senst, San Jose, and one sister, Mrs. Clara Polikowsky, Royal Park, Mich.

Her husband died Sept. 12, 1953. Four brothers and three sisters also died. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Winona County WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1, 1972 Winona Deaths Mrs.

Wayne Fatchett Mrs. Wayne (Karen) Fatchett, 31, Davenport, Iowa, former Winonan, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, after an illness of four months. She was a mathematics teacher at Port Byron, High School. The former Karen R.

Reszka, she was born in Winona Aug. 21, 1941, the daughter of John and Alfrieda Brand Reszka. A graduate of Winona Senior High School and Winona State College, she was married to Wayne Fatchett at Winona, June 15, port nine years. was a 1963. She had lived, in Davenmember of the American Association of University Women, Davenport Chapter, and while living in Winona a member of the St.

Matthew's Lutheran Church. Survivors are: her husband; her parents, Winona; one brother, John Reszka, Winona; two sisters, Mrs. David Airs. (Judy) Becker, Winona, and Richard (Mary) Papenfuss, Decorah, Iowa, and her grandmothers, Mrs. C.

G. (Emma) Brand, Winona, and Mrs. John (Helen) Reszka, Rochester, Minn. Fawcett Funeral Home, Winona, is in charge of arrangements. Herman F.

Groth Herman F. Groth, 76, Pleasant Hill Township, died at 6 p.m. Lutheran Hospital, Wis. He had retired from farming in the Ridgeway area. The son of Carl and Lena Dumke Groth, he was born in Winona County, Aug.

15, 1896. He married Clara Hackbarth at Ridgeway, Aug. 5, He was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Winona. Survivors are: his wife; one son, Glen, Ridgeway; four daughters, Mrs.

John (Trilva) Hoeppner, Mrs. Marvin (Arlene). Hoff, and Miss Donnis Groth, Winona, and Mrs. Donald (Arlis) Stuber, Douglas, 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Susan) Bess and Mrs.

She was born April 16, in Virginia, to John and Susan Kane McElmury and had lived in Lake City the past two years.

Her father teaches school in the Lake City public school system. Survivors are: her parents; one brother, Billy, and one sister, Lisa, at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kane, Winona, and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Roy McElmury, Winona. Mass of the Angels will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church here, the Rev. Donald Leary officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Peterson-Sheehan Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Thursday until time of services. A Christian prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The former Elaine Schmidt, she was born here March 13, 1940 to Mr. and Mrs. George Schmidt and was married in Lake City Sept. 26, 1959. She was employed at the Ben Franklin store and was a member of St.

Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors are: her husband; three sons, Lynn, Terry and Tommy, at home; her mother, Lake City; four brothers, Francis and Thomas Schmidt, Lake City; George Schmidt, Rochester, and John Schmidt, Lansing, and four sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) O'Neil, Eyota; Mrs. Lawrence (Dorothy) Sexton, Millville; Mrs. Cliff (Peggy) Marquette, Sacramento, and Mrs.

Miss Marjorie Freiheit LAKE CITY, Minn. (Special) Funeral services for Miss Marjorie Freiheit, Lake City, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church here. The Rev.

David Gosdeck will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. all bearers will be Norman and Vernon a lund, Russell White, Marlin Martens, Terry M. Freiheit Freiheit and Willard Meerkins. Miss Freiheit, who was employed at Ben Franklin Variety Store, was one of the six victims of the Monday evening explosion which destroyed the building.

Friends may call at PetersonSheehan Funeral Home here today after 4 p.m. and Thursday until 12:30 p.m. and then after that at the church. Mrs. Raymond Kehren, son Timothy LAKE CITY, Minn.

(Special) -Joint funeral services have been scheduled Thursday for Mrs. Raymond (Carol) Kehren, rural Lake City, and her son, Timothy Paul Kehren, Both were victims of the Monday evening explosion at the Ben Franklin Variety Store here. Funeral services will be held Civil, Criminal Division Jack R. Bjornstad, Albert Lea, arrested on a bench warrant for failure to pay fines on a charge of drunken driving, appeared today before Judge Dennis A. Challeen.

The rock and roll musician agreed to pay the $270 still due on his fine by January 31 or face 60 days in jail. The former Winona youth, who has also resided in Plainview, had been sentenced to pay two fines, $300 for drunken driving and $25 for driving without a license, by the late Judge John McGill, but was given time to meet the payments. He was first arrested in November 1971. Charles W. Hawley, 478 W.

5th arrested on warrant, pleaded guilty to a 1970 careless driving charge, but explained that he had been on leave from Fort Carson at the time of the accident for which he had been charged. By the time he had recovered, Hawley said, his leave had expired, and he was soon shipKorea. He is now married and attends the Winona Area Vocational-Technical Institute. Following a character statement by James Heinlen of the department of court services, Challeen suspended $50 of the $100 fine. Hawley was arrested June 1, 1970 at 4:12 a.m.

on East Sarnia Street east of Walnut Street. Joseph J. Mlynczak 31, 313 E. Howard pleaded not guilty to charges of making, an illegal left turn and of disorderly conduct. Trial was set for Nov.

13 at 10:30 a.m., and posted bond remained at $30. He was arrested Friday at 1:04 a.m. at West Broadway and Washington Street. Richard D. Schweitzer, Chatfield, pleaded guilty to charges of improper mufflers and violating a an instruction permit, and was fined a total of $35.

A charge of driving without permit in possession was dismissed when Schweitzer produced the permit. He was arrested last Wednesday at 8:05 a.m. in St. Charles. Kenneth L.

Putzier, 605 W. Sanborn pleaded not guilty to charges of careless driving and having an improper muffler. Trial was set for Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m. He was arrested Tuesday at 8:40 p.m.

at Center and Wabasha streets. Daniel K. Skrukrud, 1735 W. Wabasha pleaded guilty to a second charge of having illegally high bumpers, had $10 of a $20 fine suspended. Challeen made the suspension because Skrukrud said that he had lowered his bumpers since the last arrest.

20 auto-bicycle collision at East Broadway and Franklin Street. Her death raises to four Winona's 1972 traffic toll. Miss Hovda was reported in critical condition after her bicycle and a car driven by John D. Cornforth, East Burns Valley, collided at 7:55 p.m. She was hurled 50 feet by the impact.

She was taken to Community Memorial Hospital and later transferred to St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, with head injuries and a fractured leg. Miss Hovda was born May 30, 1951, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hovda, Grand Meadow.

She graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1969, and from Rochester State Junior College. She had attended one year of classes at Winona State College, and was employed in Winona at the time of the accident. Survivors are: her parents; one sister, Connie; and a grandmother, Mrs. Amalia Hovda. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m.
